Benefits of TCSS Membership
  • Throughout the year there are activities for everyone, the beginner as well as the more experienced, interested in cacti and other succulents.
  • Meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. and can be a very beneficial experience.
  • Speakers, slide shows, door prizes, plant raffles, show and tell, plant swaps, free plants and discussions are some of the various activities that you will find at each meeting, as well as the fun of seeing and talking with others who share your interest in these plants.
  • 10% discount on items during rescued cactus sales events.
  • The Society has a library of books which are available to members.
  • Each month you can read our newsletter "Desert Breeze" that has interesting information and updates on upcoming events and news of interest to all club members. The newsletter is available for free on-line, or can be received in the mail by paying an extra $10 per year to cover printing, postage, and handling.
  • There are many ways you can get involved in the organization and participate. Each year elections are held for board members. In addition, there are committees that work to improve our educational functions and activities. We are a volunteer group that encourages you to please ask about participating in activities that will only help improve your life and the society.
  • TCSS members are mostly from the Tucson area, but members are also from various parts of the United States. Join today, make new friends and become a member of a great organization!
  • Visit our FAQ page for common questions about membership and our rescue program.

Join the TCSS "Cactus Rescue Crew"

For details about TCSS Cactus Rescues, see this page and pay special attention to our Policies and Procedures document listed near the bottom of the page. The rescues are performed by current TCSS members who have requested to be part of the TCSS "Cactus Rescue Crew".

TCSS Members who would like to join the TCSS Cactus Rescue crew can do this in two ways:

  • When you become a TCSS member or renew your TCSS membership, you can indicate that you want to join the TCSS Cactus Rescue crew.
  • If you are already a TCSS member, but you're not part of the TCSS Cactus Rescue crew yet, send an email to President@TucsonCactus.org and ask to be put on the TCSS Cactus Rescue crew list.

You must be a paid up TCSS member to be added to the crew and to be able to participate in Cactus Rescues. Once you're part of the TCSS Cactus Rescue crew, you'll receive occasional emails with information about how to join a future rescue.
