Baja California is the earth's second largest peninsula

A desert scene with tall, green saguaro cacti, some with multiple arms, on sandy ground with rocks, small plants, and sparse desert vegetation under a clear blue sky.

Baja California is approximately 760 miles or 1220 kilometers in length and can be described best as the lower portion of California. It is surrounded by the Gulf of California (Sea of Cortés) to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west.

There are two states noted on the peninsula, Baja California (north) and Baja California Sur (south).

This Baja Garden represents a variety of cacti, other succulents and plants native to the Baja peninsula that can be used as landscape plants here in Tucson. The saguaros within the garden are not found in Baja and were placed in this location prior to the garden formation.

This garden features some incredibly attractive plants that offer great diversity and adventure to the landscape.
