Ferocactus of the Month
"A hybrid of uncertain heritage" by Chris Monrad

Photos by Chris Monrad

(This article may only be reprinted with the author's permission.)

A hybrid of uncertain heritage, this specimen has vivid red-orange flowers reminiscent of Ferocactus pilosus, but its thick, straight spination and fall flowering season is not consistent with F. pilosus. This plant blooms from October into November.
